"All three obviously enjoy the tournament as it they have participated many times in the past," said Organising Committee co-chairman Prasan Maleenont.

Grand Slam champion and current world No 66 Johansson's best result at the Thailand Open was in 2004 when he lost to Andy Roddick in the quarter finals. The likeable Swede has nine ATP Tour titles to his name including the 2002 Australian Open where he beat Marat Safin for the title.

Soderling is currently ranked No 34 in the ATP rankings and has reached two finals this year. In 2004 he was a quarter finalist at the Thailand Open. His serve is one of the most feared in men's tennis, and will be a huge weapon on the fast Bangkok court. He ranks No 4 on the list of most aces served in 2008.

World No 37 Nieminen has twice made the semi finals in Bangkok - in 2003 and 2005. He will be hoping to play one more match in 2008. He has enjoyed a successful year in 2008 reaching the final in Adelaide and the quarter finals at the Australian Open and Bastad. 

The Thailand Open 2008 will feature many of the world's top men's players including world No 3 Novak Djokovic, French excitement machines Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gael Monfils, Grand Slam champions Marat Safin and Carlos Moya, plus Thai twins Sonchat and Sanchai Ratiwatana who will be aiming to defend their doubles title from last year.
